Venus Fires Up in Aries
Moments in the Flow…A Warrior Goddess for International Women’s Day
Hello again,
Most of us have an ideal image of Venus…one that includes love, sexuality, fertility, beauty, harmony, peace and nurturing others. Those qualities are reflected in her signs of domicile, Taurus and Libra, the signs she is said to ‘rule.’ But when Venus changes signs, we experience a different way of expressing love and relationship. We find new things worthy, new ways of relating to and spending money, and new ideas of our own self-worth.
The wheel of this year has brought us to her March 6th entry into what is considered a difficult Venus position, the sign diametrically opposed to Libra. This Venus is in the Cardinal Fire sign of Aries, the God of War.
Astrologers still like to categorize planets in signs as being exalted or in fall. The latter would be given to Venus in Aries. I am weaning myself away from those categories to look at polarity and the potential positive and potential negative for each. And a positive for Venus in Aries is found in this Roman Epithets listing, among her many attributes, she is the Goddess of Victory which makes her a Goddess of War.
And in this capacity, Venus in Aries may be more self-focused. As I mentioned in last week’s Moondays Report “Venus loves being active and having freedom of movement. Her love-speak is often full of teasing and banter. She loves the chase but can become easily bored. Keeping her guessing is helpful. Challenging her in games, sports, or wordplay is stimulating. Coming up with new places to go and other adventures will keep her interested. Don’t be dismayed if she walks a few paces ahead of you.
Venus in Aries can bestow beauty to the face and head. She likes to get a new look with makeup and hairstyle. Earrings may be a favorite accessory. She may like hats for different occasions. She spends on these items, and on facials or other cosmetic treatments and plastic surgery.
Venus is associated with money in general, but Aries Venus is not a saver and likes to treat herself, so money may come and go.”
But having passion and a desire to act on issues is an attribute which, thanks to the Women’s Movements, past and present, women are using to take their rightful place in the world.
International Women’s Day
The theme for International Women’s Day on March 8th, 2026, is “Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge gender equality.”
Venus in Aries will bring her fiery passion to this mission. She will also fuel the beginning of new projects and help us act to fulfill our desires and bring success for our goals.
One way of looking at Venus in Aries is love of war, but we can also look at love coming into war. Maybe the Goddess is required to modulate the anger that leads to conflict.
Other Fiery Expressions of Passionate Women
One of the Public figures in the US who demonstrates fiery energy is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortes. She was born with a Venus-ruled Libra Sun. Libra is a sign of justice, and her active communications and demand for justice is fueled by her Venus in fiery, truth-seeking Sagittarius which trines her Moon joined with wisdom warrior Pallas/Athena in Aries. She is not afraid to speak out and tell the truth in the conservative Congress of the United States.

The first female President of Slovenia, Natasa Pirc Musar, is taking on the issues of the world. She was born with a Taurus Sun and Venus which lends her strength and perseverance and is in the sign of earth and nature. In a powerful speech about the state of the world, shared by Every Woman Counts on their Facebook page on February 27th, the day before the Aquarius Total Solar Eclipse, she shows the fiery emphasis of her Saturn, n Node, Eris conjunction in Aries and her Jupiter in Leo. Saturn and the n Node show her karmic need to lead, and Eris is rattling the cage of complacency. Jupiter is expanding with the courage and protection of a lioness.
While attending the 2009 Vancouver Peace Summit, the Dalai Lama was quoted as saying, “The world will be saved by the western woman.” And in this Victory, Venus will personify the fiery aspect of the Goddess of War.
See you next time!
