Hello again,
I’ve been back from my NYC trip for a couple of days and still trying to ground into the pattern of life here. As beloved author Tom Robbins described the South American Jungle in “Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates,” the frequency of that never-sleeps metropolis can be ‘entirely too vivid.’ You strive to adjust to it, and just when you think you have, it’s time to go home.
My eyes opened wide to take in all the green plant energy when I looked out my living room windows. A big sigh of contentment in a safe space to unwind. And that meant giving into my travel weariness with permission to do a lot of nothing.
But I posted on Wednesday to complete one of the unusual stories from my long-ago NYC life. And today I am wondering why I don’t feel compelled to post about Saturn in Aries.
2025 Is Just A Taste
Most astrologers are all over that and I have recorded my point of view on a podcast in the current MoonDays Report. As I pondered this reluctance to say more today, I realized: Like my trip to New York, this entry is one of very short duration. And then we’ll be back again to where we were before.
Many people will hardly notice Saturn in Aries unless they have planets and other positions between 0 and 2 degrees of Cardinal signs Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn.
For them it will be the first experience of an ongoing challenge and obstacles that carry an important lesson. One astrologer said Saturn marks the times of evolving maturity. But this struggle is how it does this. Maturity, however, is only achieved when you pass the exam.
When clients are having a tough time with Saturn aspects I always suggest they sit down, close their eyes, take a few deep breaths, and then ask Saturn, “what is my lesson now?” Then despite the struggle to accept the answer, say you agree to learn this lesson. The load lightens considerably. We come out of it in a space of new behaviors, beliefs, and expectations. That is where the new maturity is experienced and observed.
Saturn’s Journey in Aries
Arriving in Aries on Saturday (this weekend, May 24th) at 11:35 p.m. EDT Saturn will reach only 1 degree Aries before Saturn retrogrades at 12:07 a.m. EDT on July 13th. We will then review the past seven weeks that gave us the first taste of this cool, metallic energy in hot and spicey Aries.
Saturn reenters Pisces on September 9th and will get all the way back to 25 degrees (“Not again!” moan the late mutable sign planets in Pisces, Gemini, Virgo and Sagittarius) before going direct on November 27th at 10:52 p.m. (which happens to be Thanksgiving Day in the US this year).
2025 will end with Saturn in 26 Pisces. The song of the 29th degree will play again when Saturn moves forward in the first 7 weeks of 2026.
Saturn will be there in time to join Neptune. And maybe that’s why it just doesn’t feel real yet. The mystical, confusing ruling planet of Pisces is still very much in the picture.
A Year Of Back and Forth
This in and out, back and forth motion of planets has been a significant feature of 2025.
Inner Planet 2025 Retrograde Cycles:
· Venus moved from Aries back to Pisces
· Mars moved from Leo back to Cancer
· Mercury moved from Aries back to Pisces
· Mercury will move from Sagittarius back to Scorpio during its November retrograde.
It seems appropriate for the Chinese Year of the Snake, a creature that frequently moves in a coiled fashion, back and forth, instead of straight ahead.
Only Pluto will remain in Aquarius, the sign it now transits during this retrograde, having done this same in and out cycle in 2024.
Neptune and Uranus

A retrograde at 1 Aries will happen for Neptune on July 4th, reentering Pisces on October 22nd. It goes direct on December 10th at 29 Pisces and will reenter Aries on January 26th, 2026.
Uranus is next, entering Gemini (July 7th) and retrograding on Saturday, September 6th at 1 degree Gemini. It returns to Taurus on November 8th. It will go Direct at 27 Taurus on February 3, 2026.
Jupiter
Jupiter is the only planet that will not do this in and out, back and forth shift of signs . It moves out of Gemini and into Cancer on June 9th where it remains, even during its retrograde cycle in 2025-6.
That is because Jupiter will move quickly through this sign, arriving at 25 degrees before the retrograde begins on November 11th, 2025. It goes Direct at 15 Cancer on March 10th, 2026.
How This Affects You
Having shared this with you, I see how knowing the Back and Forth, In and Out, nature of the slow-moving planets this year can be relevant information for many of us. We’ll have our brief taste of a planet in a new sign but might find the flavor changes when the planet sign combination remains consistent throughout its transit.
It also helps us to understand the way things are manifesting now. If you wonder why some parts of life aren’t clear and plans aren’t moving forward the way you expected, it could also be down to this. Promoting and launching a new project might have a more distinct and consistent trajectory after early 2026.
And it helps to know where these planetary shifts are taking place for you and the issues of the planets and houses in the birth chart that are affected.

I did enjoy the snake like comparison you made to the retrogrades and yes challenging but these many revisits have felt needed once their purpose was being revealed. I feel its going to be quite the year for plot changes and twists and turns.
