Moondays Report—Mercury Retrogrades, Capricorn Full Moon, Jupiter Enters Leo
Moments in the flow: Astrological Forecast for June 29 to August 5th
Hello again,
A focus on the Moon is appropriate for understanding the flow of the week’s energy. In the old days they said, “The Moon Tells the Tale.” It is told in the aspects the Moon makes as it moves quickly through each sign. In daily forecasts, the Moon’s sign and phase colors the mood of the day and what activities are supported.
About Your Personal Moon
Knowing the Moon Sign and Phase at birth is helpful as this combination describes your instinctive feelings and responses to the environment. And this also lets you know when you will have a personal Monthly Lunar Return when the Moon returns to the degree and sign it was in at birth. Those charts can be very helpful for planning ahead and understanding the focus for that timeframe.
When someone books a reading with me, I always look at where the Moon will be during the reading to get information about the client’s most important issue.
In progressions to your birth chart, we will find your Moon is in a different sign, phase and location. This is also good to know as it shows deeper and longer lasting effects. In a similar cycle to Saturn, there is a full chart Lunar Return near ages 27, 54, and 81.Knowing this gives more information about the signs, houses, and phases of the progressed Moon which reveals where feelings and changes are most pronounced and when the location and signs shift.
The Week Ahead June 20-Aug 5
When important Planetary and Lunar Events occur, the section after the Daily Forecasts will give more information on the nature of these events.

· Tuesday we enter the 3rd Quarter Lunar Phase. This disseminating phase in the waning Moon cycle supports sharing our harvest which may be material but also things we’ve learned and other ideas. We begin to see the Waning Gibbous Moon.
· Jupiter Enters Leo at 1:52 a.m. EDT.
· We remain in the 3rd Quarter Phase for the remainder of the week.
· Moon Signs this week: Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces
DAILY FORECASTS
Note:This is a holiday weekend in the US. The 4th of July is the 250th anniversary of Independence. Looking at the daily forecasts beginning Friday, July 3rd and through Sunday July 5th can tell you about travel and what to expect during the weekend celebrations.
· The Capricorn Moon begins the week. Capricorn Moon brings the instinctive need to create structure, follow practical, tried-and-true methods, achieve, be respected, and assume a position of authority. Pitfalls: Becoming rigid and inflexible, fearful approach to life, overly authoritative, limiting self and others.
· Monday Capricorn Moon has to deal with some confusion and uncertainty about actions until lunchtime in EDT. Confusion may be coming from the slowdown and retrograde of Mercury in Cancer (1:36 pm EDT) that has many lost in a fog of feelings. Be as focused as you can be, especially if traveling. As we go on, feelings are also intensified by the Full Moon at 8 Capricorn. A harvest, realizations or separations may come in on this energy and obstacles are on the way. Jupiter will shift signs in MDT and PDT in the late-night hours.
· Tuesday Capricorn Moon has an early morning challenge about which action to take for best results and is noticing a shift for Jupiter that moved into the sign of Leo at 1:52 a.m. EDT. Both Leo and Capricorn are signs of authority and there will be contests about who is the rightful leader. The day goes on without another lunar aspect completing which helps us get work done.
· Wednesday Capricorn Moon completes an opposition in the early morning which mirrors the Full Moon opposition in a conversation with a sensitive, possibly younger person who seeks support rather than discipline. Moon is void of course until it enters Aquarius.
· Aquarius Entry, Wednesday at 3:33 p.m. EDT. Aquarius Moon brings the instinct to be independent, free, have a detached viewpoint for observation, be a humanitarian, and seeking the best for the group. Pitfall: Unreliability, surprising behavior, cool withdrawal when upset, stubborn and willful.
· Wednesday Aquarius Moon gives us a quick view of what will happen when the nodes shift in July as it opposes the new Jupiter in Leo in the late afternoon EDT. Fixed sign oppositions are not easily resolved and the instinct for equality will be challenged by an expanded sense of superiority. After this Aquarius Moon finds stimulating conversation and new ideas that may also bring an intuitive download about new ways to do things as we move into the overnight.
· Thursday Aquarius Moon may find the perfect way to go about implementing some of those new ideas, finding helpful agreement with an experienced expert. In the late night we may be feeling unsure about a relationship.
· Friday Aquarius Moon has the relationship uncertainty materialize in a challenge to freedom from someone who wants exclusivity and loyalty. Financial issues may also be in disagreement about how to invest or deal with money, through lunchtime in EDT. Then freedom comes as Aquarius Moon is Void of Course until it enters Pisces. *** But be aware of a volatile aspect that will involve Mars in conjunction with Uranus in Gemini. This completes just before Saturday’s Pisces Moon begins. Angry words, accidents, injuries to hands, arms, lungs can come from acting too quickly and for the US working with fireworks for the 4th of July Holiday.
· Pisces Entry Saturday at 2:30 a.m. EDT. Pisces Moon brings the instinct to be compassionate, empathetic, be present in the moment, and seek the safety of solitude or disengaging from the world. Pitfalls: Open to seduction, absorbing other people’s emotions and/or the energy of environments, disconnecting from reality and opting for escapist behaviors, dishonesty.
· Saturday Pisces Moon will extend the energy of the Mars Uranus conjunction in squaring both those planets in the morning hours EDT. Some negativity is caused by the Moon’s lack of focus or attention. There is a big improvement in relationship and inner feelings for the rest of the day which has more focus on nurturing and enjoying loved ones.
· Sunday Pisces Moon will find people in agreement with plans and as the day goes on, more sentimentality may focus on family stories and conversations about times gone by. Pisces Moon completes its last aspect overnight and will be void of course on Monday until it enters Aries.

PLANETARY AND LUNAR EVENTS
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
THREE EVENTS ON MONDAY, JUNE 29th
MERCURY RETROGRADES AT 26 CANCER, 1:36 p.m. EDT
I have written a lot about Mercury in Cancer in an earlier post, but now we are in the slow-moving station retrograde which accentuates the effects. And with Mercury in Cancer, we’re already prone to daydreams.
I have also posted (on Friday) about this retrograde but will include the dates in this section, too.
After entering the retrograde, Mercury will get up to retrograde speed for just a few days: the 14th to the 16th. The slowdown before going station direct begins on July 18th and the station is on the 22nd. Direct motion on the 23rd. Up to speed on August 1st. Out of the retrograde shadow degrees on August 7th
Mercury enters Leo on August 9th at 12:20 p.m. EDT.
CAPRICORN FULL MOON
The Capricorn Full Moon takes place when the Moon opposes the Sun in 8 Cancer on Monday at 7:57 p.m. EDT.
The classic polarity is the Cancer focus on security, home and family versus Capricorn energy in the outer world, career, status and reputation. The Moon in Capricorn has the instinctive feeling to respond to the environment this way, while thwarting the desire of the Cancer Sun. Can a happy compromise be reached?
In the chart set for Washington, DC, the last degree of Sagittarius is rising, forming an inconjunct (150 degree) angle with the ruler of the Ascendant, Jupiter in 29 Cancer. Adjustment is needed to reconcile this last moment for Jupiter’s expansion in personal needs and family focus while issues with foreign places and natural laws are rising at the end of the line. Something’s gotta give. But what? The lunar event is square Neptune in Aries and that planet is slowing down to retrograde next week. Are our lenses clear? Not as much as we might hope.
The Capricorn Moon is rising in the first house which puts an emphasis on government, tradition, rules and regulations and may concern a woman in government, too. The Cancer Sun is in the 7th, showing an authority involved in legal negotiations. Both are intercepted, making their actions less visible and less powerful. Jupiter is also there in the 7th and in the last degree so unable to move toward a chance to bestow benefits. Mercury was approaching the conjunction to Jupiter but will back away, suggesting helpful communications come to an end.
Another interesting aspect is Mars in Gemini approaching the conjunction to Uranus in the 5th house. There are rumors about inappropriate behavior with a younger woman and there may be more about investments, too. The conjunction doesn’t take place until Friday the 3rd, but it has the potential to be volatile and there is some danger of injury through heating things up…like fireworks and barbecues…on the day before the 4th of July celebration. This can also be angry outbursts and road rage.
Venus in Leo is in the 8th house where it can work with shared resources and management but also may indicate sexual liaison. It has just come off a trine to Saturn in Aries in the third house which would suggest the wisdom of taking it slow in both areas and Pallas Athena conjunct Vesta was also in trine to Venus and they would suggest wisdom and considering what you hold dear.
Chiron in Taurus is with centaur Okyrhoe in the 4th house. This psychic centaur is trying to be heard about the need to be rooted, avoid wounding the self-esteem of others, and preserve the home and family.
We can see the evolutionary nodes at 2 Virgo Pisces and so we will soon be shifting into the new evolutionary direction of s node Leo and n node Aquarius. Have we grown in using our spiritual sensitivity and bypassing the need for perfection and logic? We have just a short while to go before the focus shifts.
JUPITER ENTERS LEO
On Monday in PDT and MDT and on Tuesday in CDT and EDT, Jupiter leaves the sign of Cancer and moves into Leo (1:52 a.m. EDT). We can expect to find expansion and focus in the areas that fall under this fixed fire sign.
While Leo can be gentle, affectionate, and a generous provider for the family, there can also be a desire to be attended to by others. Loyalty is desired and given to those who are loving and supportive.
Leo is the sign of the King and may expect to be treated that way. It is also a financial sign that seeks to enlarge the kingdom in various ways, including investments. It is the sign of creative self-expression, and we may seek or create more entertainment in our lives. Sports and gambling are also under the Leo umbrella. And it is the sign of romance and ruled by the Sun it describes the Father’s role in the creation of children. Fertility and abundance may be found wherever this transit is in the birth chart.
The luck of catching the brass-ring will come early in this sign transit as it relates to a positive Jupiter Uranus connection. Uranus is in the early degrees of Gemini, a sign compatible to Leo. Jupiter completes the sextile to Uranus in 4 Gemini on July 21st at 7:11 a.m. EDT. And where this falls in your chart may be the place where luck occurs.
But it will also favorably aspect natal Uranus and other planetary positions in Gemini, Libra, Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. But it will oppose placements in Aquarius.
But on July 20th, the day before the lucky Uranus aspect, Jupiter will trine retrograde Neptune in Aries and oppose retrograde Pluto in Aquarius. The trine to Neptune may be creative but also carry a warning about things looking better than they actually are. The opposition to Pluto is the classic issue of control of future and plans with the backdrop of loyalty versus independence.
Jupiter will trine retrograde Saturn in Aries on August 31st which may bring us more stability and support for our goals.
Jupiter will retrograde at 27 Leo on December 12th and spend a lot of time at 17 Leo where it will resume direct motion on April 12th 2027. It will enter Virgo on July 26, 2027. It will not retrograde in Virgo until 2028 will be at high degrees of that sign, so Jupiter will not return to Leo in this retrograde.
Since the accurate information about where Jupiter transits in the birth chart depends on the date, location and time of birth, if you would like to know more about where the ‘Greater Benefic’ will be in your chart and what aspects it will make, Contact Me for a birth chart reading.
