Though some readers already know me, I’d like to begin posting here with some background information about myself and what I hope to do with my new Substack platform.
I have been a writer since I penciled a short detective story in Elementary School. I’ve gone on to publish poetry, a fairytale novella, and most recently, a series of novels inspired by a Druid Priestess from the Celtic Arthurian Age. My poems and fiction are what I call “Muse-driven.” I receive as I write.
Before it was fashionable, I practiced Astrology, Metaphysics, Meditation, and Holistic Healing methods. I have written many articles on these subjects for professional publications, and teach classes for beginners and continuing education. I present workshops and lectures for astrological and aromatherapy organizations and spiritual centers, and through my own website.
While living in Southeast Florida, I studied with Native American teachers and learned the concept of honoring, ceremony, and to pray with gratitude. Moving to the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in 2005 reawakened a more profound awareness of the cycles of seasons. I became interested in the old ways of my Celtic background. It led me to attended and then lead Seasonal Circles for the 8-cycles of the Celtic Calendar. I found a great resonance exists between these seemingly different indigenous philosophies.
Here, I finished writing and published the Revealing the Druid Legacy Series (The Last Priestess, Priestess of the Realms, and Priestess of the Prophecy) and this led me to a deep appreciation of the pre-Christian Ancestral culture. The story of Anwen and her relationship with Merlin brought powerful teachings, too, and is an inspiration for the return of the Divine Feminine. Anwen’s Priestess training in the Circle of Nine expanded my own relationship to the Elements, which enhanced my astrological and healing practice.
Many of my colleagues have found a home on Substack and encouraged me to create a presence here. It is my desire to share posts of current insights, excerpts from my books and current writing, tell amazing ‘true-life stories’, comment on planetary influences and other topics, from my perspective.
I plan to publish posts several times a week and go with the flow of what I am led to share at that moment. I look forward to your comments and insights. Eventually, I will open the Paid Subscription and Donor levels and offerings.
I hope you’ll enjoy the journey.
