This is a great and insightful article Shellie, you’ve set me down a rabbit hole with Jin Shin Jyutsu. I have never heard of that before. So many changes going on at the moment. It’s our inter-connectedness that we are re-learning.

Thank you so much. JSJ was one of many things that came to me without my seeking it (my archives are full of these stories). I wanted to support a friend in her first CE class and it turned out to be a transformative moment in my life. A book for beginners is The Touch of Healing by Alice Burmeister. It is a clear communication and the self-help is simple but powerful. I applied the simple technique I used in NYC to a friend's daughter in ICU. The nurse asked me what I was doing and I told her...she said that the patient's heartbeat had returned to normal and they had not been able to do that. You would think the hospital would have invited me to do this work but no. Still, it helps at the right time for me and those I know.

Thank you Shellie, I’m going to really look into this. My true calling is as a healer so every tool fascinates me

Thank you for this insightfull writing. I love to share a video I watched a few months ago in which Robin Wall Kimmerer is interviewed. It spoke to my heart and adds to what your sharing here.

Thank you. I agree and I love her book, Braiding Sweetgrass. Thank you for sharing her interview. I often say the biggest downturn was the Industrial Revolution that brought people from their agricultural society into the cities. And the misinterpretation of the idea that we were given dominion meant power over when we were given responsibility for maintaining our interrelationship with all around us. So many are waking up to this now that it gives me some hope.

Hi Shelie, I read Braiding Sweetgrass too and loved listening to this interview too. One of the biggest downturns in recent history was indeed the Industrial Revolution. It brought some prosperity and many poverty. It also took away the ability and skill to live life and do the work that needed to be done in a contemplative and even in a mediative state. Now many are living in constant alertness and deep grief.

In history there have been many moments inviting us to open ourselves for the spiritual dimensions of life. As Oren Lyons say; spiritual laws are natural laws. You can’t win a discussion with a beetle. The beetle follows his own nature. We’ve lost the connection with our own human nature and its wisdom. I have hope too we will find our way to reconnect again.

Interesting! "What changes did you see happening then and over the period of 8 months that followed?" Beginning in late May 2025 there was a noticeable shift in my writing...so much so that a FB friend (of over 10 years) who I had never met in person, noted. The shift was, finally, an inner alignment with a (much more) authentic voice. That voice, at that time, also definitively told 'that man' that I would no longer betray myself for his deceptive connection with my former teachers. Clockwork Shell...Thanks. AND I hope you're staying warm and cozy amidst the turmoil. xo -Leslie
