A Legendary Storm On the Way
Moments in the Flow…Focused on Forecasts and Aquarius
Hello again,
I have written several posts about weather (Revisiting Emotions and the Weather is one) and I did a class for paid subscribers on how to work with the elements. I am attuned to notice forecasts as I experience the longest period of below freezing winter weather I’ve seen over the 20 years I’ve lived here.
I haven’t heard why, but some have said the pole is shifting toward Russia and it could be this that affects the Polar Vortex. Now, this frigid vortex is going further south and lasting longer than usual.
I’ve learned that snow can be okay (not too heavy) but ice is the most dangerous for navigation and the time when tree limbs break and power outages are likely. Today we were told by the TV weatherman that after the event, even colder temperatures would arrive so the ice would remain. Picture being unable to leave home for who knows how long.
And the terms, ‘freezing rain,’ ‘sleet,’ and ‘ice’ are the ones being applied to Upstate South Carolina. I began doing what I could, to tone down the amount of accumulation and protect the area. And I saw some results that show a shift in the duration, amount of ice, and that we will be above freezing after the event for several days before that first 19-degree overnight shows up.
We do need rain as the lakes are down, which means the reservoirs are, too. We have experienced a dry winter, and the birds, other wildlife, and plants would welcome water through the melting ice.
But none of us humans here would appreciate days of power outage. And if I am not prompt with my usual posts, it’s likely to be because I don’t have internet. But I’ll see if I can get another post or two written and schedule them in advance.
The Moondays Report which comes out on Sunday evenings would be the first missing…and if you haven’t been following that post, I’m going to describe the experience of an abundance of planetary energy in Aquarius. If you have, you might find a few differences in what I convey below.
The Aquarius Stellium
Working with weather is an aspect of using positive vision…and that is part of Uranus/Aquarius. ‘Ruling’ planet, Uranus continues retrograde in Taurus, encouraging us to use this personal power in relationship to the earth and the material world. Uranus will go direct on February 3rd, adding to the enormous changes taking place that month. It remains in Taurus until April 25th, so we still have time to learn how our mental energy affects all things, including our own physicality.
Static Electricity is a phrase the can describe experiences we might have during the fixed air quality of this ‘electric’ sign. This week a stellium of planets (more than 3 in the same sign) forms in Aquarius. Venus and Pluto were already there when the Sun and Mercury entered, and Mars will be entering Aquarius on Friday (the 23rd).
Surprise, upheaval, rebellion, irresponsibility, detachment are some of the negative qualities that can now be a part of our values, creative expression, communications and thinking. Mars will make it part of our motivation, action, passion, anger, and movement. They are also a part of the obsession and goals of long-term transformation as Pluto transits this sign.
A look at the news shows much of this is happening now…and it will be enhanced for better or worse when Mercury joins Pluto on the 22nd, when Mars joins Pluto on the 27th and in the Leo Moon’s oppositions to Aquarius planets as it approaches and culminates at the full Moon on February 1st.
But detachment brings the positive ability for observation…of what and who is around us, but also of ourselves. We can choose to see when we are in those negative energies and allow ourselves to feel them, then release/detach from them and move into the positive qualities of Aquarius. Most important now are the creation of equality, positive goals, community, willingness to change and to invent new and helpful ideas/things/ways of being.
Moving into February
After the polarity and fruition of the Leo Full Moon, here in the Northern Hemisphere we notice longer daylight hours and the uplifting signs of plant life increasing while ewes give birth and create milk to feed their lambs. We celebrate this time as the Imbolc (Candlemas) cross-quarter festival. The Calendar way is on February 2nd, which would also include those who celebrate at the Full Moon this year. The cross quarter comes at the Gate of Aquarius at 15 degrees of this sign. This arrives on February 3-4.
Mercury will enter Pisces on February 6th and the mind becomes sensitive, creative, poetic. Venus will begin the Pisces transit on the 10th. But Aquarius is still the sign of a major turning point on the 17th with the Ring of Fire Solar Eclipse New Moon at 28 degrees of Aquarius. This coincides with the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Fire Horse. Rings of fire and fire horses enhance the shift of Neptune (on January 26th) and Saturn (on February 13th) into the Cardinal Fire sign of Aries.
During the New Moon Solar Eclipse we can direct our personal vision and energy through Aquarius into our vision of change in the outer world. The “New Era” aspect of Saturn conjunct Neptune in Aries is on the 20th and this makes ‘a change in the outer world’ have even greater meaning.
We should also remember that while Aquarius might retreat to an ivory tower if it’s upset and disturbed, it does not surrender. Aquarius holds onto its ideals, and so can we.

Thinking about you during this winter 🥶 weather event. Hoping you have everything you need and with no need to go and venture out, especially if it’s icy. ❄️
Take good care and batten down the hatches!
